Jack King's Gym is home to some of the top powerlifting competitors in North Carolina and the country. We train the squat, bench, and deadlift with competition-grade equipment — power racks, calibrated plates, and a competition platform.
Whether you're preparing for your first meet or chasing a state record, the platform is loaded and the coaching lineage runs deep.
Jack King's roots are in Olympic lifting — the snatch, the clean and jerk, the press. He competed from 1955 through the 1970s, connected to the York Barbell tradition through Bill Starr.
That coaching lineage is still alive in this gym. Heavy squats, heavy cleans, and the kind of technique work that only comes from decades on the platform.
29 wins. Masters' Mr. America. Masters' Mr. Universe. All natural. All drug-free. Jack King proved that the old way works — heavy compound movements, real food, and consistency measured in decades.
This gym is and always has been a drug-free facility. The results speak for themselves.
Atlas stones. Yoke walks. Log press. Farmer's carries. The iron doesn't care what shape it comes in — if you move heavy things, you're home.
We have the implements and the space. Bring the work ethic.
